My Favorite Stroller Accessories
Something about the wind, the birds chirping, the cars driving can be so soothing for our littles. Being outside can be regulating for our children, but also for us parents too. Not only that, but some babes really enjoy those stroller naps, right?!
Getting outside on those hard days can be so beneficial to us and our littles. Sometimes it’s a little reset in our days to give us all the energy to keep going! Check out my reel on 3 Tips to Calm Your Baby for some ideas if getting outside doesn’t do the trick for your little one.
As the weather permits, you may find yourself going on walks, going to the park, going to the outdoor farmer’s market, or wherever your fam likes to enjoy! Even in fall during days where the air is crisp, walks can be so refreshing!
I am going to share some of my favorite stroller accessories to keep baby cool, shaded, and comfortable whether your taking a stroll around the block or headed to for a fun family vacation (If you are headed to Disney or need a double stroller, click here to see my Double Stroller Showdown on two popular Disney (and mom-approved) double travel strollers)! Also, if you are getting ready for a trip to somewhere fun & know that your baby will be in their stroller a little longer than normal, you may want to make sure they’re comfortable (and you have all that you need!). I’ve got you covered!
3 warmer weather faves
Here are some of my favorite stroller accessories for those beautiful, warm, sunny days! You can just click the title of each to be taken directly to the product!
ETHAN & EMMA UNIVERSAL BABY STROLLER ORGANIZER
Honestly, I love this no matter what the weather. Having a caddy on your stroller will give you the space to make sure you have all of the essentials accessible! I like to keep my water bottles (for me and my olders!), snacks, keys, and sunscreen in it. This one holds 2 drinks, phone/wallet/keys and has an entire secret fold-down compartment with room for diapers, wipes, burp cloths, sunscreen, snacks – you literally don’t even need your diaper bag when you pack this thing full! It is small but mighty and fits on any stroller with a push bar.
AMACOOL STROLLER FAN WITH FLEXIBLE TRIPOD
You know how much I preach about this thing! If there is one thing you really do need for being outside with your baby (aside from shade and physical barriers), it’s this. Use this fan to keep yourself and your baby cool – especially during stroller or beach naps while you’re out! I love that it has “legs” that wrap around any surface you need it to (we have used on our stroller, chairs, etc) and points exactly where you want it to! Make sure to wrap those legs extended out so the fan doesn’t topple over easily. See my highlight and explanation on this, as well as walking through this product!
INTIMOM UNIVERSAL MESH STROLLER SHADE
It’s important in the summer heat to use a MESH stroller shade. The one linked here is universal, but many stroller brands offer them specific to your stroller too, which are even better/safer/preferred! This keeps the sun off your baby’s skin and out of their eyes while still remaining breathable. The car seat cover/nursing covers that are popular aren’t very breathable and can make the interior hot very quickly! I like to keep the fan inside of the mesh sunshade as well to keep the air circulating while baby is napping. This shade also has sheerness so baby can still see out vs being too opaque. Please make sure to assess your baby often, spend lots of time without the mesh shade when you’re able, and remove them from their stroller often!
3 colder weather faves
Who says you can’t take walks in the winter?! Being cooped up in the fall and wintertime can be so hard (trust me, I’ve had 2 fall babes and a winter babe), and finding ways to get out is so important– bundle baby (and yourself!) up and go, mama! Whether it’s bundling to head out for a walk between sleet showers, or going out before a big snowfall comes, let’s keep you both warm and cozy!
UNIVERSAL STROLLER RAIN COVER
I love this one because it keeps baby totally dry (also 9,000+ 4.5 star reviews on amazon!).! Baby can see out on all sides, and it makes for some fun in-the-rain or drizzle walks. This would also work on a snowy day to keep your baby dry and warm with no cold air hitting them. Although it covers the entire stroller, the front clear part unzips all the way for easy access to get your baby in or out.
FLEECE STROLLER HAND MUFF
A big downfall to winter walks is that your hands can start to get so cold. Of course, nobody wants that! I love that this one is large and spacious enough that you still have room to wear your own gloves if you want. I love the access to the phone as well, because there’s nothing more frustrating than having to pull of your gloves and do something on your phone when it’s cold outside! Not only is it important to keep our littles warm on these colder walks or jogs, but we need to make sure we’re taking care of ourselves too!
a few extras
I hope some of these will become some of your faves too! For a full list of items for being outside with baby click here and to shop my favorite things when traveling with baby check out this list. Here are a few “extras” I really love for the stroller!
Toddler riding board
This is a universal riding board to attach to your stroller that your toddler can comfortable ride on! This comes in handy if you have a single stroller and your toddler is getting tired/wants to ride. It also comes in handy if you have a double stroller, but three kids (been there!), so one of the older kids can ride on it! This specific board holds up to 66lbs (my 7 year old doesn’t even weigh that!). PLEASE make sure this board is compatible with your specific stroller, first. It is compatible with 95% of strollers, but it’s important to make sure yours is included before purchasing— which you can do here. They have a “mini, maxi, and maxi+” (which includes a seat on the board and higher clearance). Many stroller brands also offer a riding board option for your specific stroller, so it’s worth looking into as well!
Bag clips
These are awesome if you need a quick place to hang a light bag, purse, wristlet, or bag from stopping at the farmer’s market, etc. It’s great for times you may not have a big stroller storage option, or just need some extra space. The big thing here is making sure that you’re not hanging things that are too heavy, to ensure you’re not tipping the stroller. This happens most often when you are taking your child out of the stroller (that’s otherwise empty). So make sure things are balanced! I like sometimes using it for my kids’ water bottles! I just clip it around the handle of their water bottles and it works out really well!
You’ve got this, Mamas!
Xoxo,
Kar
P.S. If you are traveling, but you aren’t sure how you are going to get all your gear to where you are going, check out @babyquip where you can rent baby & kid/ family items wherever you go! They pair you with a fam nearby who will drop off/pick up! We have used it on multiple trips and it can truly be a life saver!
