Best Baby Sleep Sacks
Over 5 babies, I can tell you I have tested maaaany sleep sacks in my day! I decided to round up a few of my favorites, along with some of the popular ones on the market with my thoughts! I have more to add to this list periodically, but wanted to get a head start in case you’re in the market!
What is a “Sleep sack”?
A sleep sack is exactly what it sounds like! It’s kind of like a sleeping bag made for babies. It’s a zip around blanket with arm holes so babies can still roll appropriately. It’s typically what babies wear to sleep in and stay warm after transitioning out of the swaddle. Our absolute favorite are the bamboo sleep sacks because they’re super soft and comfortable, temperature regulating, and great for my eczema babies’ skin! Many are very similar, but there are a few things you want to look for.
My babies absolutely love their sleep sacks! My baby, Blake (6 mths), is in one now and she transitioned into them after being swaddled. My son, Teddy used one until he was a little over 2! They became a part of their bedtime routine and something that they really associate with sleep, which is amazing!
what to look for in a sleep sack
Many are very similar in design, however, one thing we absolutely want to make sure of is that the sleep sack is NOT “weighted”. The AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommends against weighted sleep sacks, even though many are still marketed these days.
Many sleep sacks come in different sizes, but also different “TOGs”. TOG is not a weight, it is the thickness of the sleep sack. TOG= Thermal Overall Guide and is a unit of measurement for insulation and warmth of sleepwear or bedding. Lower TOG is lighter fabric and higher TOG is more insulated and warmer. For instance, Quince is a popular sleep sack brand and comes in TOG 0.5 (lightest), 1.0 (medium), and 2.5 (most insulated). You can choose which TOG you want your child to sleep in based on their sleep environment! If their sleep space is nice and cool, a 1.0 or 2.5 tog may be a preferable choice, whereas in the warm summer months with a warmer sleep space, a 0.5 may be more comfortable for your baby. Now, let’s chat through a few popular sleep sack brands and what I love about them!
which do YOU choose
To be completely honest, many of these sleep sacks are very similar. They are all safe and nice quality options. There are obviously many more brands than those listed below. However, these are some of the most popular choices and ones I have used as well over 5 babies. I compiled my thoughts with the thoughts of moms in the Karing for Postpartum community! Let’s talk though them!
HALO — $36.99
Sadly this sleep sack has been sold out for a while, therefore, I personally haven’t been able to try it. I gathered some of the moms in this community’s feedback for this one! They said overall that this sleepsack is really nice quality for the price. The sizing is pretty standard and easy to follow, the zippers didn’t get “hung up” and they liked the feel of it.The problem (right now) is it’s rarely in stock in some sizes and can be hard to find!

QUINCE — $29.90-39.90
This brand is really well priced, yet high quality bamboo. It’s soft, stretchy, and breathable. We love ours! I will say, I was actually pretty disappointed in the 1.0 tog thickness, as it was much thinner than my other 1.0 tog sleep sacks from different brands. To me, the 1.0 tog feels similar to a 0.5tog with most other brands I have. I actually only really use this one when our sleep environment is warmer than normal since it’s so thin (we run our house pretty cold). This community wrote in with feedback stating the quality is very impressive for the price overall, which makes it easier to stock up on! GREAT price point for a high quality bamboo sleep sack or jammies.

AMAZON HAPIU- $39
This one really really impressed me! It was super similar to some of my bamboo Kyte Baby sleep sacks we have (and used for years previously!). Really nice quality, extremely soft and cozy, less expensive than Kyte, and multiple colors to choose from. The sizing is a little hard to nail down, as the age spans are pretty broad, but you get plenty of length (Blake is 6.5 months here in the 6-18 months with plenty of length). I do LOVE that I can toss in the washer and dryer without issue. They are incredibly soft inside as well and ours has gotten softer with each wash. This community stated that they feel these are a perfect comparison to Kyte, but less cost and actually softer inside.

GUNAMUNA— $55
I love these. With a caveat of course— they. run. huge. (and they’re pricey!). However, great longevity and the quality is unmatched! Super cute prints as well. Would refer to these as “luxe”, yet could easily be saved for future babies or resold in a BST group due to the quality! Blake is 6.5 months pictured in their 3-9 months here with tons of length to spare (some of it is tucked under her feet due to movement with sleep). This community’s feedback is that if they have them, they love them, yet they have to budget because of the price! You do get longer use out of them, rather than needing to “size up” more frequently like you do with some other brands.

LITTLE SLEEPIES- $55
These sleep sacks impressed me! I do love Little Sleepies though, so def wasn’t surprised by any means! They seem very similar quality to Kyte, yet has the adjustability feature with snaps under the arms! I feel like there is plenty of length based on age for use, just wish they had 1.0 TOG (that’s my fave). Blake is pictured here at 6.5 months in the 6-18 month sleep bag at 1.5TOG. This community seems to love the quality of these as well, yet they are on the “pricier” end, so mentioned they tend to go with other well known brands they already had!

WILDBIRD- $50
I am impressed with these as well! They’re not “bamboo”, but they have the same qualities with their material “cloud blend fabric”. It’s incredibly soft and cozy, moisture wicking, temp regulating, etc. I love the prints they offer and the fact that it’s so safe for baby’s skin. I don’t love that it’s recommended to air dry them. If I’m being honest, I don’t do that (I don’t have time for that). The sizing is also a bit hard since it’s based on weight and some babies weigh less/are longer and I feel like this sleep sack doesn’t have tons of extra length (Blake is pictured at 6.5 months in their “small” 2.5TOG // she is probably around 16-17 lbs).

KYTE BABY— $55
We have used Kyte baby sleep sacks for years, and I knew many of you do as well! When I asked the community for feedback, many of you said you love and still use these! I do know they recently changed their business practices regarding maternity leave for their employees, as that was an issue previously. I used to have a discount code with them, but do not any longer. However, they were mentioned over and over as a favorite of this community. Blake is pictured here at 6.5 months in the Small 1.0 TOG.
